Graphics

Basic4GL has two ways of rendering graphics : through OpenGL or it's built-in 2D sprite engine, which is suitable for all kinds of 2D games.

2D Sprite Engine

The 2D Sprite Engine is built research papers on OpenGL and uses textures as sprites. The first step in using the sprite engine is to load a texture (any suitable image) from your harddrive.

2D graphics in Basic4GL are displayed through OpenGL.
